Council guidelines
Council sentencing guidelines are produced in two phases:
- Draft guidelines are produced,
which are presented to parliament and published on this website
- Final guidelines are published
around two months later on this website, following the revision of the draft
guidelines
The final sentencing guidelines should then be used by courts throughout
England and Wales.
